My Hero Academia : the film’s Two Heroes in the cinema, back on the manga phenomenon

After the manga and the animated series, this is the film that “My Hero Academia” attacks with the release this week of the first feature film of the franchise, titled “Two Heroes”. Bones My Hero Academia: Two Heroes, the first film adapted from the manga of the same name, is officially released in our cinemas this Tuesday, January 22. The opportunity for us to come back to this great success story of one of the franchises that the japanese are among the most popular of the moment. It all begins the summer of 2014, when it is published in the Weekly Shônen Jump magazine has seen hatch series such as Dragon Ball, One Piece or even Naruto, the first chapter of My Hero Academia. It was written and drawn by Kōhei Horikoshi, a young writer prodigy and winner of the prestigious Tezuka in 2007 for his one-shot Tenko, this manga follows the adventures of Izuku Midoriya, a young teenager born without a super-power in a world where 80 % of the population has. Yet determined to become a super-hero like his idol All-Might, Izuku is going to be evidence of a recklessness out of the common, and prove that it does not necessarily have the powers to become a hero. But to get there, he will have to overcome many obstacles and face enemies just as determined as him…

Hit upon publication, My Hero Academia is adapted into animated series in the spring of 2016, and the success is waiting for you with a number of fans in constant increase, especially as the episodes are available with us in simulcast (one hour after they are broadcast in japanese) on the platform DNA. One Piece, Attack of The Titans… what were the manga sold in Japan in 2018 ? Little by little, the franchise grows through derivative products, video games (Battle for All, Smash, Tap, One’s Justice, in the meantime, Jump Strength, which is to confront the heroes and villains of the largest licenses of the magazine Weekly Shônen Jump) and it is therefore no surprise that a film project is announced in December 2017 by animation studios Bones. Entitled My Hero Academia: Two Heroes, the film comes out August 3, 2018 in Japan, but is prior a first from the French to the Japan Expo on July 6 of that same year. However, it will take six months after this projection, exceptional for the film to do so finally on our screens this Tuesday, January 22, in a hundred cinemas across France. And now ? With a manga still in publication (the 18th volume will be released on April 4, next to the editions Ki-oon), a fourth season of the animated expected for this autumn, and – one imagines – a second movie which will be released in the near future, My Hero Academia seems poised to remain a free animation major in future years, as evidenced by the project of adaptation in real images recently announced by the producer of Pacific Rim 2.
